Web Designer

Aug 27, 2026

Stockton-on-Tees, UK
Full-time · Studio-based

Design experiences people remember.

We're looking for a Web Designer to join our UX and creative team at Ryze.

A true designer who's a natural problem solver and deeply comfortable in digital. Someone as capable of structuring a seamless experience as they are making it visually spectacular.

You'll help create digital brand experiences for ambitious organisations around the world — combining UX, visual design, interaction and motion to turn ideas, stories and brands into experiences people want to engage with.

This is a role for someone who cares deeply about their craft, wants to keep getting better and has the ambition to see their work perform on the world stage.

More than designing screens

We believe great web design sits at the intersection of logic and emotion.

You'll think about how an experience works, how it moves, how it communicates and ultimately how it makes somebody feel.

Engagement design is a fundamental part of that. Motion and interaction aren't decoration added at the end; they're part of how we build narrative, create moments of discovery and strengthen the connection between a brand and its audience.

You'll work closely with UX, creative and development throughout the process — from early thinking and experience structure through to visual direction, prototyping and final delivery.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing distinctive websites and digital brand experiences.
  • Translating UX thinking into intuitive, beautifully considered interfaces.
  • Creating interaction and motion concepts that elevate storytelling.
  • Developing visual directions from initial concept through to execution.
  • Building responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile.
  • Prototyping ideas in Figma and other appropriate tools.
  • Working directly with developers to push what is possible in-browser.
  • Applying existing brand systems while identifying opportunities to evolve them.
  • Presenting ideas clearly to colleagues and clients.
  • Taking ownership of your work from initial brief through to final delivery.

We're looking for someone who

Thinks before they decorate.
You understand that the strongest creative solutions begin by solving the right problem.

Has exceptional digital craft.
Typography, hierarchy, layout, composition and detail matter to you.

Understands experience.
You're comfortable thinking about user journeys, information architecture and how people interact with digital products.

Designs with movement in mind.
You understand how animation, interaction and transition can make an experience more intuitive, engaging and memorable.

Is curious about what's possible.
You follow exceptional digital work, emerging technology and new ways of creating experiences — without blindly following trends.

Can take an idea all the way.
You're as interested in refinement and execution as you are in the initial concept.

Cares about the outcome.
You'll challenge work, including your own, because making something genuinely good matters to you.

Your toolkit

Figma will be at the centre of your day-to-day work, alongside the wider Adobe Creative Cloud.

Experience creating motion, interaction or prototypes using tools such as After Effects, Principle, ProtoPie, Rive or similar would be highly valuable.

We're less interested in ticking off a prescribed software list than seeing evidence of great thinking, strong craft and an understanding of what makes digital experiences work.

The work

We partner with ambitious companies across technology, AI, motorsport, aviation, sustainability, SaaS and consumer brands.

Our projects regularly bring together strategy, brand, UX, creative design, motion, 3D and development — giving designers the opportunity to influence the complete experience rather than simply handing over finished screens.

Our work has been recognised by The Webby Awards, Awwwards and The Lovie Awards, including two Webby wins and Awwwards Site of the Day.

We're proud of that recognition, but more importantly of what it represents: a team capable of producing work that stands alongside some of the best creative studios in the world.

Life at Ryze

We're an independent team based in the North East, working with clients throughout the UK and internationally.

You'll be joining an environment where good ideas can come from anywhere, where collaboration happens directly and where talented people aren't held back by unnecessary layers.

We want people to push further.

Try something new. Challenge the expected. Develop your craft. Find better ways of doing things.

That's how Ryze has grown, and it's how we intend to keep progressing.

What you'll get

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Ongoing professional development.
  • Latest design software and equipment.
  • Company laptop.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Modern studio environment.
  • Free on-site parking.
  • Regular team lunches.
  • Drinks and snacks in the studio.
  • The opportunity to work on ambitious international projects.
  • Genuine influence over the creative work you produce.

Show us what you can do

Your portfolio matters much more to us than an exhaustive list of qualifications.

We want to see beautifully executed web design, but also the thinking behind it. Show us how you solve problems, structure experiences, create interaction and bring an idea to life.

If you're already looking at our work and thinking about what you'd do differently, that's probably a good sign.

Send your portfolio, CV and a short introduction to careers@ryzeagency.co.uk.

Come and make something exceptional.
